Dr. Zheng joined the Lehigh faculty in 2018. She works on several areas of research with a focus on underwater cyber-physical systems. Her research has been funded by National Science Foundation (NSF), Office of Naval Research (ONR), US Department of Transportation (DoT), Air Force Research Laboratory, and Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR). She has published more than 70 journal papers and more than 120 conference papers. She is an IEEE fellow of class 2015.

Current Research Topics:

• Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) and Internet of Things (IoT) - wireless networking and data retrieval for underwater data loggers, underwater fish tags, and underwater drones;
• Underwater Wireless Communications – Underwater acoustic communications, underwater and underground magneto-inductive communications, underwater optical communications;
• Compressive Sensing – hardware and software co-design for microwave camera with very sparse arrays, for Magnetic Resonant Imaging (MRI) systems with sparse sampling, and for optical camera with very fast acquisition
