Turn on X11 Tunnelining

After clicking on the Options selection, we arrive at the Settings page as shown in Figure 13. In the Settings page, click on the text Tunneling on the left hand side of the screen. Then make sure there is a check in the box with the text Tunnel X11 connections. After doing this, click the button with the text OK, and you will return to the main screen for the ssh client program.

You will only need to set the ssh client software up once to tunnel the X11 connections for a given session at a particular computer. If you should close the ssh session and reopen the ssh session on the same machine, without having left the machine, the X11 tunneling settings will remain the same. However, if you move to another machine, or log off your machine and walk away from the machine for a few hours, you will need to check these settings when you log back in. When a machine is re-imaged, which could happen if you walk away from your machine for a few hours, the ssh settings will be what was on the original LTS image ssh configuration. Original LTS image ssh settings have the tunnel X11 connections turned off.
