Quick Connect

The screen displayed in Figure 15 is what you will see after clicking on the text Quick Connect.

This screen is asking for the machine you wish to connect to, and your ECE/CSE User ID.

It is recommended that you put in the text sunlab.eecs.lehigh.edu for the Host Name. This host name will deposit you an existing machine in the Sun Lab. Because your home directory is networked, it does no matter which machine in the Sun Lab you are working from. Occasionally, some Sun Lab machines are down for updates or maintenance. Using the hostname sunlab.eecs.lehigh.edu in the Connect to Remote Host pop-up window as seen in Figure 15 will eliminate the need for you to have to figure out which machines are up since this hostname will always land you on an active machine.

Next, enter your ECE/CSE User ID. Although this ID may be the same text as your University ID, the ID and password exist on a network that is distinct from the University network - at least in regards to authentication. Type your ECE/CSE User ID and password into this screen and click the button with the text Connect to proceed.

If you do not have an ID on the ECE/CSE network, please send an email to help@eecs.lehigh.edu requesting and ID.
