Introduction

This document will cover how to access the Advanced Design System (ADS) software from Agilent Technologies that we have here in the ECE departement at Lehigh University.

ADS currently runs on the Unix platform within the Sun Lab. Some of the ways to access the software in the Sun Lab are as follows:

• You can access the Unix machines and ADS from a Microsoft XP.
• You can access the Unix machines and ADS from a linux client.
• You can sit directly at a Sun Workstation in the CSE Sun Lab to run the software.

I am making the assumption that most of the class will be accessing the ADS software from the Microsoft XP platform. Therefore, this document will demonstrate how to run the ADS software from the Microsoft XP platform. This document will assume that you are sitting at a LTS Public Site machine running Microsoft XP. If you run the Microsoft XP platform from home, and wish to connect from home to run the ADS software, I will point you to directions to accomplish this configuration.
